Microsoft updates Bing app for Android, iOS and this informationreleased by the company last week through a  blog. In the blog, they highlighted the unique features of the app including a maps module in a revamped form, real-  time transit feeds and a new deals service.

Its extremely appealing that this new application based on HTML5, instead of Silverlight. This provides greater continuity among mobile browser and app interfaces. Microsoft has made an announcement in the blog that they try to release the same consistent experience for Windows Phone 7 and RIM devices in the future. The decision to bring Bing for mobile application to Android and iOS makes alot of sense as Android and iOS make up the bulk of the consumer market. This new mobile application has several new features.

It provides dynamic way for synchronizing a list like business listings, directions and maps. One can see all these in a single view. It also offers one-stop deal shopping, as well as, convenient access to mobile phone for local deals and that too from more than hundred deal providers across America. The new application offers a feature of real-time transit/to transit routing. All these features were previously available only with Bing website.

 Whats New

  • Maps/List Split View: Provides a dynamic way to synchronize a list such as business listings and directions and a map in a single view making it easy to see the location of what you’re searching for. Also works for driving directions and transit.
  • Deals: One-stop deal shopping and convenient mobile phone access for local deals from more than 100 deal providers across the US.

And Finally Google+ Pages are Here

The long waited feature of the new social network is available from today.

As everybody know about facebook pages, people are very much expected the same from Goolge+.Giving a break to this, Google yesterday introduced Google+ Business Pages or simply Pages.

This is how a G+ page looks like https://plus.google.com/b/115986030712259484018/

Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President of Engineering Google+ said

Google+ has always been a place for real-life sharing, and Google+ Pages is no exception. After all: behind every page (or storefront, or four-door sedan) is a passionate group of individuals, and we think you should able to connect with them too.

For you and me, this means we can now hang out live with the local bike shop, or discuss our wardrobe with a favorite clothing line, or follow a band on tour. Google+ pages give life to everything we find in the real world. And by adding them to circles, we can create lasting bonds with the pages (and people) that matter most.

For businesses and brands, Google+ pages help you connect with the customers and fans who love you. Not only can they recommend you with a +1, or add you to a circle to listen long-term. They can actually spend time with your team, face-to-face-to-face. All you need to do is start sharing, and you’ll soon find the super fans and loyal customers that want to say hello.

Google+ Pages are integrated into Google search in two ways.

  • One is displaying Pages as results in search
  • Direct Connect

If you type [+] followed by any page it will be directly available on drop lsit, see the video

Direct Connect from Google search
People search on Google billions of times a day, and very often, they’re looking for businesses and brands. Today’s launch of Google+ Pages can help people transform their queries into meaningful connections, so we’re rolling out two ways to add pages to circles from Google search. The first is by including Google+ pages in search results, and the second is a new feature called Direct Connect.

Maybe you’re watching a movie trailer, or you just heard that your favorite band is coming to town. In both cases you want to connect with them right now, and Direct Connect makes it easy—even automatic. Just go to Google and search for [+], followed by the page you’re interested in (like +Angry Birds). We’ll take you to their Google+ page, and if you want, we’ll add them to your circles.

Direct Connect works for a limited number of pages today (like +Google, +Pepsi, and +Toyota), but many more are coming. In the meantime, organizations can learn more about Direct Connect in our Help Center.

Amazing 3D and 2D panorama pictures with your Xperia™ phone

As the great video our colleagues in Developer World made about the features you are getting in your Xperia™ 2011 Phones with the latest 2.3.4 Gingerbread update shows us, you will get great Camera enhancements.
First of all, you will get the world´s first 3D Sweep panorama functionality powered by Sony in Smartphones.
This means you will be able to take panoramic pictures in 3D (and 2D) with your Xperia™ Smartphone by selecting the function, and just moving your phone from left to right in a sweeping mode, letting the phone take the picture automatically, so that you obtain great panoramic pictures from the places you love.
Check out some of the sample panoramic pictures taken with Sweep panorama:

The way the 3D Panorama Sweep works is that the phone camera uses the sweep motion to take a great amount of pictures in a row, then puts them them together and calculates two single pictures, that actually show the same scenery, but from two slightly different angles. The pictures are combined into one .mpo file (Multi Picture Object), that can be interpreted by 3D capable devices, such as your 3D HD screen, by connecting your phone via HDMI. Although, we can´t show you the real 3D experience thought the sample pictures we are posting, it is an amazing thing to see your pictures really come to live through your 3D screen.
The 3D Sweep panorama function will not be available for Xperia™ PLAY, but will be available for the rest of the Xperia™ 2011 portfolio. Xperia™ PLAY will get HD video recording with the 2.3.4 Android upgrade.
Also, all the Xperia™ phones will get an enhancement on the zoom capabilities of the camera for video recording, with a 16x video zoom.
